At the heart of Hurstwood Farm is an experienced, passionate team with diverse knowledge of horses and the industry.
Owner. Founder
Mike purchased Hurstwood Farm in 1999 with the vision of creating an equestrian centre of excellence. Initially starting out in the buying and selling of horses, Mike quickly realised this wasn't for him and has since turned the focus to making Hurstwood Farm a place grounded in horse welfare and education for the rider. Mike's proudest achievements are his homebred horses who he looks forward to seeing excel in eventing and show jumping.
Office. Secretary
Georgia works in the office, managing lesson bookings, holiday enquiries and day to day admin. Having had her own equestrian business for over 15 years alongside running The Association for British Working Equitation, Georgia has many years of experience in the industry.
Instructor · Simulator Specialist
Amy has been a part of Hurstwood Farm for many years. Having trained with a number of world renowned trainers as a professional rider and competed up to Prix St George, Amy has a wealth of knowledge and experience in Dressage and particularly enjoys working with riders on the simulator. Amy is also a qualified Franklin Method Pelvic Floor Coach. Amy also offers lessons to outside clients on their own horses. Aside from instructing Amy helps manage the cottages and campsite.
Yard manager . Instructor
Michelle is a BHS qualified instructor with Stage 3 in equine care and management. Michelle is meticulous in the running of the yard and ensures our horses receive the best care at all times. Michelle also delivers our Changing Lives Through Horses program.
Competition Rider . Instructor
Jamie is the newest member of the Hurstwood team. Joining us as part of his Apprenticeship in Equestrian Sporting Excellence, Jamie's main role will be to produce and compete Mike's homebred horses. Jamie has an impressive competition record in Show Jumping and will also be giving lessons on the simulator and our horses with a focus more on jumping and cross country. His goal is to have one of Mike's horses qualify for the main arena at Hickstead!
Instructor . Groom
Chloe is a BHS qualified instructor and also delivers our Changing Lives Through Horses program. Chloe is Michelle's "right hand" and is passionate about maintaining the highest standards of care for the horses at all times.
Accounting
Charlotte is another long term member of the Hurstwood Farm team. Having previously worked in the office, Charlotte is now in one day a week to keep on top of the book keeping and financial records for the business.
